A creative workshop series and peer support group for anyone parenting or re-parenting in this time of turmoil and transformation.

If you are caregiving or parenting a teen/tween, and/or re-parenting yourself through a second adolescence, or time of personal transition and identity exploration/reclamation, such as perimenopause, gender transition, divorce, etc. this is for you!

Over six two-hour sessions, you will…
Grow your understanding, compassion, and reverence for adolescence as a time of risk, possibility, and alchemy.
Connect/Reconnect and tend to your teenage self
Honor, celebrate, and grieve personal change and loss with care and intention.
Develop practices, capacity, and support to fight for and nurture a changing world while you hold and care for yourself.
Artists of all levels and abilities welcome. No special supplies required.

Adolescent rites of passage can teach us to embrace change, sit with our fears, awkwardness, mess and uncertainty, grieve loss, hold contradictions, and call forth a new world with bold creativity, courage, imperfection and abundance.

Meetings will take place on Zoom from 5PM-7PM EST on March 9th, March 16th, April 6th, April 13th, May 4th, and May 11th

Adolescent Alchemy
The Content: This series is structured to explore the stages of adolescent rites of passage, and each workshop will include facilitated discussion, creative prompts, embodied and reflective practices, resource/inspiration sharing and peer support.
Separation– In sessions 1 & 2 we will co-create our community and define shared practices and expectations. We will map change and locate our spaces of liminality, and explore how to hold complexity, grief and gratitude for the past and our past selves.
Transition – In sessions 3 & 4 we will reconnect with and tend to our teen selves, unpacking fear, risk, and courage and tapping into our subversion and creative powers to cast spells and build worlds.
Incorporation– In session 5 & 6 we will gather the objects of our survival to build altars and prepare for new beginnings and next chapters. We will be witnessed and supported as we share and celebrate our growth and becoming.
The Space: Together we will build and experiment with emergent practices and relational skills in order to create a space that is…
Tender- We will practice tenderness toward each other and ourselves, including our younger selves, our messy selves, and our growing selves.
Transparent- We will practice radical honesty, vulnerability, and accountability for our words and actions, to the group, and to the truth.
Transgressive- We will question assumptions, name and challenge systems and white dominant/patrearchal/cis-hetero norms, bring our curiosity to get to the root and imagine possibilities beyond binaries.
The Cost: Registration fee is on a sliding scale of $300- $450 and includes one optional in-person gathering, and one make-up session (dates TBD). Spots are limited to keep the group small and intimate.

Are you interested in expanding beyond binaries, and either/or thinking in order to hold the complexity of feelings and experiences we are living through? Through papercutting, poetry, and collage we will utilize negative and positive space to explore the coexistence and interdependence of joy and grief, opposite extremes, and everything in-between.
